Course Description

Sharjah Biennial 12 artists Ayreen Anastas and Rene Gabri will conduct a Communal Collaborations workshop that will focus on the idea of community. What is our understanding of community, and can art open up different relations to this notion? After being asked the previous questions, participants will take a walk around SAF neighbourhood. During this journey they will make contact with the individuals they meet and try to engage them in conversations around questions introduced at the beginning of the workshop. The group will reconvene and bring together notes and observations from their conversations. According to the ideas gathered by the participants, a decision will be made on an appropriate form of publicly manifested response or collective work.
