Talk Description
Ruanne Abou-Rahmeh and Basel Abbas discuss their artistic practice in relation to the themes of rupture, erasure, uprooting, the fragmentation of memory and the unrelenting realities of occupation and colonialism in the Palestinian context. Their conversation will also touch on forms of haunting that appear in their SB15 installation Until we became fire and fire us (2023), which is aptly situated in the ruins of the old heritage house, Bait Haider Abadi in Al Mureijah, Sharjah.
