Performing Arts 101 is a series of events organised for art enthusiasts who wish to explore and engage with various forms of the performing arts. Through special events, dynamic performances and discussion, audiences can enhance their knowledge of different musical genres including Classical, Jazz and Opera.
Join us on Saturday, 2 November when we welcome Tala Badri, accompanied on piano by Tala Tutunji as they lead us through the classical music of the Baroque, Romantic and Modern eras.
Tala Badri is the Founder and Executive Director of Centre for Musical Arts in Dubai. A graduate from Royal Holloway, University of London she is committed to music education and teaches both the flute and the piano. Ms Badri is heavily involved in the performing arts community in Dubai and was instrumental in the development of the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre.
Tala Tutunji is a graduate of Trinity College of Music, London where she studied under Christine Croshaw and Mikhail Kazakavich. Ms Tutunji’s recent performances have taken place at UNESCO - Paris, the Cadogen Hall, where she performed with the Orion Orchestra, and the Leighton House Museum, in collaboration with Opera Holland Park - London. She was also invited to represent Jordan at the Royal Palace of Naples under the patronage of HRH Princess Wijdan Ali of Jordan.
