Typography Portraits

Construct your own typography portrait with an ink pen. Arrange letters in the form of a portrait on a handmade sheet, combining the beauty of lettering with a powerful illustration to create a striking and significant image. You can take inspiration from K. G. Subramanyan’s use of monochrome illustration, figurative components and abstract patterns in The Tale of the Talking Face (1989).


Scroll Painting on Rice Paper

Drawing on the colourful work of Bhupen Khakhar, who portrays the life and work of the ordinary people of India through the life of shopkeepers on the street, create a scroll painting on rice paper, one of the most popular art forms in Asian traditions. Sketch elements inspired by Khakhar’s work onto the rice paper, and paint your project with bright poster colours.
