Overview

Malakooti will introduce Bidoun Projects’ online archive for avant-garde media, BubuWeb, launched in 2009 as a long-term collaboration with UbuWeb. To date, BubuWeb has hosted rare and hard-to-find film and audio works from filmmakers, including: Forough Farrokhzad, Reza Abdoh and Artavazd Peleshian, as well as composers Ali Reza Mashayekhi, Halim El-Dabh and Dariush Dolat-Shahi. BubuWeb has documented outsider encounters with the East: Pier Paolo Pasollini and Masao Adachi and Kôji Wakamatsu in Palestine, as well as Claude LeLouch, Agnes Varda and Albert Lamorisse in Iran. BubuWeb frequently extends beyond the web, to film programmes and talks at venues such as Art Dubai (2010-2012) and the Amsterdam Art Book Fair (2011).
