Overview

This disussion-based collaborative session aims to explore and inspire a commitment through knowledge to provide skilled and high-level documentation of and for the benefit of artistic commissions and residencies. Documentation is a means to enrich the experience of viewing archives and contemplating commissions and residencies. The session will highlight the benefits of developing ways to involve documentation in the process of commissions and residencies. The session will also explore different methods of documentation and examine new output platforms available for archived documents, including online, social media and mobile applications versus traditional forms, such as print and DVDs. Pertinent issues relating to ownership and copyright sharing between artists and image-makers will be addressed.
