Synopsis

Monopoly is a mockumentary that depicts the housing crisis in Saudi Arabia, revolving around a man who decides to live in a van due to escalating property prices.

The film raised high awareness about a crisis that affects 70% of the population in Saudi Arabia, and as a result received over a million views in its first week.

Moving Images is a partnership between Dubai International Film Festival, Sharjah Art Foundation and Art Dubai, launched in 2013 to explore the shared territory between artists’ films and filmmakers’ art.

All SAF events are free and open to the public.

Director

Bader Al-Homoud is a Saudi filmmaker and cinematographer, he studied architecture and interior design prior to becoming a filmmaker. Bader wrote and directed short films and commercials, some of which received Awards such as Abu Dhabi Film Festival and Gulf Film festival. Critics consider him the most prominent Cinematographer in the Gulf Region. In addition to his film and cinematography achievements, Bader is also a professional trainer & lecturer eager to spread the art of film-making to young Saudis in the Kingdom.
