Overview
Continuing his collaboration with Sharjah Art Foundation and the surrounding community, composer and musician Neo Muyanga has initiated Project Lentswe, a long-term choir and community project for all ages and abilities.
During a week-long workshop, over 30 participants from a range of cultural backgrounds have engaged in song, storytelling and a variety of vocal and movement exercises under Muyanga’s guidance. To conclude this first workshop, Project Lentswe will showcase its joyful noise in an open rehearsal on Saturday, 21 December 2019, at 3:30 pm outside of Gallery 6 in Al Mureijah Art Spaces. The new choir will perform songs they learned from Muyanga and each other.
Project Lentswe is intended as a long-term, ongoing engagement, where new members are always welcome. Although located in Sharjah, the choir will give ‘voice’ to song in multiple modes and traditions, proudly reflecting its multicultural composition.
This event is free and open to the public.
