Disabilities Education Programme Offers ‘Paint with Your Feet’ Workshop

Overview

A highlight of Sharjah Art Foundation’s Autumn 2017 Disabilities Education Programme was the workshop Paint with Your Feet, held on Saturday, 21 October 2017 in Arts Square. Under the guidance of artist Zaahirah Zabeen Muthy, the children who participated learnt to create bold, expressive paintings using only their feet.

Taking advantage of the range of bright colours available, the participants engaged in both group and individual activities, first learning the technique of painting with their feet and then designing their own projects to show favourite times and places.

Paint with Your Feet is only one example of the integrated workshops offered by the Disabilities Education Programme at Sharjah Art Foundation. These inclusive, interactive workshops help participants develop their sense of teamwork, autonomy, ownership and creativity. They also focus attention on the need to make public spaces more ‘ACE’ – accessible, connected and engaging.
