Biography
Kasper Akhøj looks at things attentively over long periods of time, in an effort to extract information and create relationships, from the geopolitical to the personal. Akhøj’s collaborative work with Tamar Guimarães was shown at the Jeu de Paume satellite space in Nogent-sur-Marne, Paris in 2012.
In 2010, he had solo exhibitions at Overgaden Institute for Contemporary Art, Copenhagen; Künstlerhaus Stuttgart, Germany and Wiels Centre for Contemporary Art, Brussels, Belgium.
Group exhibitions include the MoMA PS1 Performance Series, New York (2012); Art in General, New York (2009); São Paulo Bienal (2008) and the Venice Biennale, Italy (2003). In 2010, he was artist-in-residence at the São Paulo Bienal and at Platform Garanti, Istanbul, Turkey.
