Abdullah Al Owais

Biography

Abdullah Al Owais is the Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Media Corporation, board member of the National Council for Tourism and Antiquities (2009 - present), Chairman of the Higher Coordination Committee for Documentation and Research in the Emirate of Sharjah (2009 - present), founding member of the Arab Theater Institute (2007), member of the National Media Council (2006 - present), member of the Civil Service Commission, Sharjah (2006 - present) and board member of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (2002 - present). Al-Owais is the author of two volumes of poetry. He was the winner of the poetry competition sponsored by the Ministry of Information and Culture on the occasion of the silver jubilee of the Union (1996). Al-Owais earned a B.A in Technology Management from the College of New England in the United States in 1989. He lives and works in Sharjah.
