Biography
Hani Al Shaibani is a filmmaker whose work includes short films such as Jawhara, Letter from Hell, Maitha’s Present and Curiosity as well as the feature-length films Kalek Shanab, Waiting List, The Hotel, Jumaa and the Sea and A Dream. He also has an experimental film titled Patented to his credit.
His film Jawhara was awarded a prize in the short narrative category at the Emirates Film Competition, Abu Dhabi (2003).
Al Shaibani holds a BA and a postgraduate diploma from the Faculty of Information, Cairo University. He also received an MA in Film and TV from Griffith University, Australia.
He was born in 1974 in Dubai, where he continues to live and work.
