Biography
Poet, essayist and photographer Pierre Amrouche is a specialist in African art and tribal arts as well as an expert in public art sales. Member of a Berber family from Kabylia, he is also very involved in Kabyle culture.
His principal works of poetry, which appeared in the Editions Présence Africaine, include Treize charmes d’Afrique [Thirteen charms of Africa] (2012), Chants de Lomé [Songs of Lomé] (2012), Fraternité océanique [Oceanic brotherhood] (2007) and Des jours de plus en moins [Days from more to less] (2004). For the past thirty years, Amrouche has also written a number of major African art catalogues.
