Biography
Producer and director Laila Aoudj contributes to several audiovisual and cinematographic projects, both in Algeria and overseas. After a post-graduate degree at EM Strasbourg Business School and a stint at FEMIS, she joined the Bejaia International Film Festival where she became artistic director and programmer for five years. Aoudj was the artistic director of the sixth edition of the European Film Festival of Algiers (2021).
She co-founded Dima Cinema (2019), a platform dedicated to the establishment of an alternative film distribution network in Algeria.
Aoudj was born in 1985 in Algiers, where she continues to live and work.

The ten-day event—which includes a range of regional and international films, talks by filmmakers and industry professionals, musical concerts and mixers—is centred around Mirage City Cinema (MCC), the open-air theatre in Sharjah’s historical quarter.
