Biography
Sarah Choo Jing is known for her interdisciplinary approach to photography, video and installation. Her work depicts identifiable moments and characters within contemporary urban society, suggesting a plethora of private and often solitary narratives.
Choo’s work has been exhibited at the Busan Museum of Art, Korea; Daegu Photo Biennale, Korea; Grand Palais, Paris; Somerset House, London; and Santa Fe International New Media Festival, US, among others. Her work can be found in the collections of the Singapore Art Museum, National Museum of Singapore and The Arts Club, London.
She was awarded an Honourable Mention in the Portfolio-Fine Art category for her work Accelerated Intimacy at the Moscow International Foto Awards (2019) and placed first in the Foto Awards four years earlier. She also received the Gold Award at the PX3 Prix de la Photographie Competition (2019) and the Perspectives 40 under 40 Award (2017). She was shortlisted as a finalist for the Audemars Piguet Art Commission for Art Basel 2020 and invited to present her practice at Le Brassus, Geneva.
Choo holds an MFA from the Slade School of Art, London (2015). She was born in 1990 in Singapore, where she continues to live and work.

Sharjah Film Platform Talks and Workshops
In parallel with the screening of over 50 films, Sharjah Film Platform (SFP) presents a programme of talks on cinema and artists’ moving image—from panel discussions to in-conversation sessions—that address the creative and conceptual aspects of filmmaking and the latest debates in the film and television industry. Workshops on various topics related to cinema, from acting improvisation to film criticism, will also be offered.
