Biography
Charles Esche is a curator and writer.He is director of the Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven and co-editorial director of Afterall Journal and Books, based at Central St. Martins College, London. In addition to his institutional curating, he has (co-) curated a number of international exhibitions, including Le Musée Égaré, Toulouse (2016); Jakarta Biennale (2015); São Paulo Biennale (2014); U3 Triennale, Modern Galerija, Ljubljana, Slovania (2011); Riwaq Biennale, Ramallah (2007, 2009); Istanbul Biennale (with Vasif Kortun, 2005) and Gwangju Biennale, South Korea (2002).
He teaches at Central Saint Martins College, London and Jan van Eyck Academy, Maastricht. He is on the board of L’Internationale confederation and chair of CASCO, Utrecht, the Netherlands.
