Biography
In her landscape paintings, photographs, sculptures and installations, Daniele Genadry considers the construction of visual experience through memory and movement. Her multiple viewpoints, decentralised images and shifting frames allow her to explore the effect of a mediated field of vision on perception.
Genadry’s work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions at institutions such as Sharjah Biennial 13 (2017); Sursock Museum, Beirut (2016); AUB Galleries, Beirut (2015); Stedelijk Museum Bureau Amsterdam (2014); British School at Rome (2014); Pastificio Cerere, Rome (2014) and The Bronx Museum, New York (2013). She was the recipient of the Basil Alkazzi Award for Excellence in Painting, New York Foundation for the Arts (2015) and the Abbey Award, British School at Rome (2013).
Genadry has participated in residencies at The Bronx Museum, New York (2013); Anderson Ranch Art Center, Snowmass Village, US (2010); Tate Britain, London (2010): Frans Masereel Centrum, Kasterlee, Belgium (2009) and Fondazione Ratti, Lake Como, Italy (2007), among others.
She received a bachelor’s degree in studio art and mathematics from Dartmouth College, Hanover, US (2002) and an MFA in painting from the Slade School of Art, London (2008).
