Biography
Melissa Karmen Lee is on faculty in the English Department at the Chines University of Hong Kong and Curator at Large, Digital Projects at Slought Foundation, Pennsylvania. She has been a Tedx Hong Kong speaker on the subject of Translating the Human Experience, keynote speaker at Women in the Arts at the Asia Society Museum, Hong Kong (2013) and the Arts Writers Convening at the Warhol Foundation / Creative Capital, Philadelphia (2011). Her current project is titled Temporary Migrations and Transnationalism in collaboration with Simon Fraser University, Canada. She is the founder of the ongoing Fairytale Project. Slought is a non-profit organisation that engages publics in dialogue about cultural and socio political change in Philadelphia, the world and the cloud. A new form of institution that builds relationships and social trust through collaboration and the exchange of ideas, for over a decade, Slought has worked with artists, communities and institutions worldwide to develop projects that encourage inclusiveness, advocacy and the sharing of knowledge.
