Biography
Recent solo exhibitions of his work include Marcelo de Andrade, Kunsthalle São Paulo, Brazil (2014); Hassan Khan, SALT, Istanbul (2012), Hassan Khan – the Hidden Location, Queens Museum of Arts, New York (2011).
Khan’s work has been widely shown in group exhibitions including the Liverpool Biennial (2014); Sharjah Biennial (2013); The Unrest of Forms, Secession, Vienna (2013); dOCUMENTA, Kassel, Germany (2012); Intense Proximity, Paris Triennial (2012) and The Ungovernables, New Museum Triennial, New York (2012). In 2013, Khan premiered his Composition for a Public Park, a large-scale multichannel music and light installation at the Parc du Belleville, Paris, as part of the Nuit Blanche Festival, Paris.
He also regularly performs his own music live, recent appearances include Taraban, Forget Amnesia, Stromboli, Italy,(2014); Mathaf, Doha (2014); Klangzeit Festival, Munster (2014); Maerz Musik Festival, Berlin (2013); Ghetto, Istanbul (2013); Auditorium du Louvre, Paris (2012); Teatro Fondamenta Nouve, Venice (2012) and as the opening act for the 1st D-CAF Festival, Cairo (2012).
His publications include The Agreement (2011) and Nine Lessons Learned from Sherif El Azma (2009).
