Biography
Candice Lin received a dual BA in Visual Arts and Art Semiotics from Brown University, Providence, US (2001) and an MFA in New Genres from the San Francisco Art Institute (2004). Her work engages in notions of gender, race and sexuality, drawing from post/de-colonialism, citizen science, anthropology, feminist and queer theory. Lin’s work has been shown widely in a number of recent exhibitions at HANGAR, Lisbon; Sculpture Center, New York; and Galeria Fortes Vilaça, Sao Paulo. Lin has held residencies and fellowships at Centre les Récollets (2017), Headlands Center for the Arts (2016) and the CCF Emerging Artist Fellowship (2015). Recent solo exhibitions were presented at Gasworks, London and Commonwealth & Council, Los Angeles (2016).
