Biography

Matthew Asaminew (b. 1992, Winnipeg) is a Toronto-based software engineer with diverse interests rooted in music, chemical engineering and coding. Transitioning from a musician and DJ to a skilled software developer, he now explores the intersection of technology with art and music. Part of the team at Woven Memory / Memoria Entretejida—a series of site-specific installations to commemorate missing detainees and victims of Augusto Pinochet’s dictatorship (1973–1990)—Asaminew contributes to the establishment of an online platform for the project’s archival and visual components. He also develops software that illustrates the oppression of the military dictatorship, aligning his work with the team's mission to be an open-source, community-driven platform. Asaminew specialises in mobile app development at Apply Digital, leading projects such as NurseGrid and What’s Cooking, which demonstrate his commitment to innovation and technology.
