Biography
May Rashed creates works using painting, photography, performance, video and podcasts. She explores the art and cultural scene in the UAE and reflects on the relationship between ontology (being and becoming) and society.
Rashed’s work has been exhibited at the Emirates Fine Arts Society, Sharjah (2013). She participated in the Salama bint Hamdan Emerging Artists Fellowship, in partnership with the Rhode Island School of Design, Abu Dhabi (2014), and she interned at the UAE Pavilion, Venice Biennale (2011).
She was born in 1977 in Sharjah, where she continues to live and work.
