Biography

Nöl Collective is a fashion label that works with artisans and producers all over Palestine to collectively produce garments, shed light on traditional Palestinian crafts and illustrate the sociopolitical reality of fashion. Founder and creative director Yasmeen Mjalli employs fashion as a medium for educating audiences about Palestinian heritage and culture through social media platforms. Using her background in art history, she focuses on traditional textiles and artisanal crafts such as weaving and embroidery to tell stories about Palestine and its people. The collective promotes the idea that fashion is art and art is inherently political.
