Biography
Pamela Rosenkranz creates abstract sculptures, works on paper, videos and installations that reference the figurative by alluding to its malleable condition, a state she perceives to be repeatedly hijacked by commercial marketing strategies and consumerism. Her conceptual work investigates the systems by which people give meaning to the natural world, reflecting on the need to anthropomorphise and construct metaphors to navigate the lived environment.
Rosenkranz’s solo exhibitions include Amazon Spirits (Green Blood), Karma International, Zurich (2018); Slight Agitation 2/4, Fondazione Prada, Milan (2017); Amazon (Green, Blue, Green), Künstlerräume Artist’s Space, K21, Düsseldorf (2017); Blue Runs, Art Basel Unlimited (2016); Our Product, Swiss Pavilion, 56th Venice Biennale (2015) and Feeding, Fleeing, Fighting, Reproduction, Kunsthalle Basel (2012).
