Gary Simmons is the recipient of the Studio Museum in Harlem’s Joyce Alexander Wein Prize.
He received his BFA from the School of Visual Arts, New York in 1988 and his MFA from California Institute of the Arts in 1990. Simmons was born in 1964 in New York, where he continues to live and work.
