Biography

Susie Ibarra performs and teaches internationally, including teaching music to children with Mundo Niños and teaching Music and Public action at Bennington College, Vermont, USA. Ibarra also works in indigenous music and ecology in the Philippines with Song of the Bird King LLC.

Recent commissions include Circadian Rhythms, music for thirteen percussion ensembles, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York, USA(2013); Digital Sanctuaries, a twelve-site mobile app soundwalk, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, New York (2013) and Binalig Blues for Arun Ghosh Arkestra Makara, London Olympic Festival BT River of Music, UK (2012). Ibarra is a 2010 TED Fellow and a 2008 Asian Cultural Council Rockefeller recipient.
