Biography
Vekis Morales (b. 1993, Guatemala City) is an independent graphic designer. She seeks to convey shared feelings and a sense of community through words and images, and highlights her feminist struggle with the help of music and art. Her illustrations are used to create political posters and wallpapers that communicate different struggles and resistances in the Guatemalan context. Morales’ audiovisual works have been exhibited in Agencia Ocote’s project No fue el Fuego [It Wasn’t the Fire] (2022). She is also in charge of creating art and design for La Revuelta, a collective of feminist Guatemalan curators. She has been involved in political advocacy campaigns, together with Justicia Ya and Instituto 25A, Guatemalan organisations dedicated to developing political thought. She has also worked on the new image of Resisters, a platform for the creation and dissemination of feminist pedagogical content.
