Biography
Multi-media artist Siebren Versteeg creates interactive installations by processing digital information, generating codes, manipulating algorithms and allowing the computer to create artworks.
Versteeg’s work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including Possibly Living People, University of Georgia, Athens, US (2019); Direct Message: Art, Language, and Power, MCA, Chicago (2019); Noise! Versteeg has received a MacDowell Fellowship from the MacDowell Colony, Peterborough, US (2016); Artist Fellowship from the Illinois Arts Council Agency, Chicago (2005); Merit Fellowship from the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Madison, US (2004); and Stone Fellowship for Graduate Study from the University of Illinois (2002).
He holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (1996) and an MFA from the University of Illinois, Chicago (2004).
Born in 1971 in New Haven, US, Versteeg lives and works in New York.
