Biography
Lantian Xie is an artist from Dubai who makes images, objects, stories, and situations.
Xie’s works have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions at Dhaka Art Summit (2018); UAE National Pavilion, 57th Venice Biennale (2017); Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing (2017); 11th Shanghai Biennale (2016); 3rd Kochi-Muziris Biennale (2016); OCT Contemporary Art Terminal, Shenzhen, China (2016); Brunei Gallery, SOAS, University of London (2016); Maraya Art Centre, Sharjah (2015); Grey Noise, Dubai (2015) and Kathmandu International Arts Festival (2013), among others.
Xie has participated in residencies at Tashkeel, Dubai (2016) and Delfina Foundation, London (2015), and he was awarded a James Nelson Raymond Fellowship, School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2012). He has curated the group exhibition 1497 at Green Art Gallery, Dubai (2016).
Xie holds an MFA in Film from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2012). Born in 1988 in Dubai, he currently lives and works in Dubai.
