Overview

March Project is an educational residency programme for young artists that provides opportunities to research, realise and present site-specific works through a series of professional development courses, seminars, exhibitions, site visits and talks led by art practitioners over a five month period. Participants in this programme are chosen from the Gulf and abroad.

March Project 2017

Participants in the March Project 2017 exhibition were Al Anood Al Obaidly and Nasir Nasrallah from the United Arab Emirates, Mahmoud Safadi from Lebanon and Sofiane Zouggar from Algeria.

The works realised were the result of the artists’ experimentation with new aesthetic forms and their exploration of the relationship between people and notions of development as well as questions of production and consumerism.

March Project 2016

March Project 2016 exhibition featured site specific works developed by Noor Abed, Ammar Al Attar, Vikram Divecha, Reem Falaknaz and Bassem Yousri who were selected from various countries including Egypt, Palestine and the United Arab Emirates.

The works realised draw upon the history and social fabric of Sharjah, as well as the daily lives of its residents and their relationship to art, institutions, space and architecture.
