Overview
This video project explores human relations as they relate to race, gender, language, culture, and social background. I use it to criticise a certain class of people that discriminates against human beings on these bases; such discrimination may be a source of despair.
Despite the existence of many racial and cultural barriers among human beings, there is nothing to prevent them from exchanging ideas and opinions through language or by signals if necessary. This video, Faces With One Feature, illustrates how all people are equal by showing masked faces of people from different nationalities. The masks are mere pieces of red fabric that cling to the faces by virtue of a blowing fan. To the viewer, the faces look alike in shape and colour. I use the whirr of the fan and the voices of some people conversing as background 'music'
