Overview
The Wagah border crossing between India and Pakistan is the site of a daily military ceremony known as the 'lowering of the flags'. It takes place every evening prior to sunset, just before security forces on either side close the gates. Thousands of spectators gather every day to watch the ceremony.
I’m on the 'Us' Side and You Are on the Other looks at what this ceremony says about the groups that watch it and what unites them. As installed, the work seems to subsume the viewer into the crowd.
