This publication accompanies Sharjah Biennial 13: Tamawuj, curated by Christine Tohme. It serves as a guide for Biennial visitors with a list of artists by location, artist project descriptions, Biennial opening week and March Meeting 2017 schedules, SB13 film programme and related education programmes. It includes forewords from Sharjah Art Foundation director Hoor Al Qasimi and SB13 curator Christine Tohme. The artist project descriptions are accompanied by unique visuals such as artist sketches, process documentation, fabrication details, film stills and proposal renders.
Act II is the concluding exhibitions and performance programme of Sharjah Biennial 13. Act II will launch two exhibitions in Beirut, conceived by guest curators Reem Fadda and Hicham Khalidi.
Taking place in various locations across Istanbul, BAHAR [Spring] is the second of four off-site projects centred around Sharjah Biennial 13: Tamawuj.
Shifting Ground, to be held in Ramallah from 10 to 14 August 2017, is the third of four off-site projects that comes under the umbrella of Sharjah Biennial 13: Tamawuj (SB13).
Sharjah Biennial 13: Tamawuj (SB13) concludes in Beirut with the fourth and final offsite project, Upon a Shifting Plate.
Christine Tohme is the Founding Director of Ashkal Alwan, the Lebanese Association for Plastic Arts.
Hoor Al Qasimi, President and Director of Sharjah Art Foundation, established the Foundation in 2009 as a catalyst and advocate for the arts in Sharjah, in the region and around the world.
