What Should I Do To Live In Your Life? was an exhibition curated by Claudia Pestana. It developed from an invitation that asked artists to imagine an exhibition in Bait Al Serkal, a former family home that is now one of Sharjah Art Foundation’s spaces. Introducing work by Lee Kit, Minouk Lim, João Vasco Paiva, Part-time Suite and Yuk King Tan this exhibition opened the doors to this home and invited viewers to reflect on mutual understanding as a creative activity produced when we engage with unfamiliarity and transformation. This booklet accompanied the exhibition and includes descriptions and visuals of the work that were on view.
Presented in the Arts Area near the port, What should I do to live in your life? introduces work by seven artists, all strangers to Sharjah, into a space that was originally a family home.
Lim was the recipient of the 1st Media Art Korea Award (2010) and the Hermés Korea Foundation Art Prize (2007).
João Vasco Paiva is a Hong Kong based installation and media artist.
Part-time Suite is a collaborative group formed by Miyeon Lee, Byungjae Lee and Jaeyoung Park.
Yuk King Tan received her BFA from University of Auckland in 1993
