Overview
Inspired by the courtyard in Islamic architecture, Sharjah Biennial 11 Curator Yuko Hasegawa proposes a new cultural cartography that reconsiders the relationships between the Arab world, Asia, the Far East, through North Africa and Latin America. Designated by UNESCO as the Arab Cultural Capital in 1998, the Emirate of Sharjah has presented the internationally recognised Sharjah Biennial since 1993.
The talk will be followed by a cocktail reception.
