Open call for Emiratis: Share photos and videos from personal archives

Sharjah Biennial 14 artists New Orleans Airlift will produce a public art project built around the site of an abandoned airplane in Umm Al Quwain while exploring notions of community, cultural and national identity, and home in the UAE. Emiratis of all backgrounds are invited to submit high-resolution photographs and videos that are related to personal and family histories and/or the history of the UAE. The materials submitted will be used as inspiration for the project and, in some cases (with the explicit permission of the owners), will be displayed at the project site in the form of digital projections.

Open call for UAE residents: Share expressions of home and identity through the Trans-national Community Participation Worksheet

Sharjah Art Foundation is now also accepting submissions from the UAE-based expat community to participate in New Orleans Airlift’s Sharjah Biennial 14 project. International expats are invited to fill out the Trans-national Community Participation Worksheet in order to share personal expressions of home and identity in the form of short messages, fragments of songs, and images that reflect their life journeys, memories and experience. Contributors’ input will be printed and installed on portals or gates under the wings of the abandoned airplane in Umm Al Quwain.

Application
