Overview
In an effort to reflect on, document and learn more about the narratives of the neighbourhood surrounding Sharjah Art Foundation, the #SAFneighbourhood Project aims to compile an intimate guidebook about Sharjah’s diversity in places, people and stories.
Through photo walks and workshops, both engaging and educational, this community programme is designed to collect and study an archive of research-based artworks and interviews informed by the physical environment and social aspects of #SAFneighbourhood.
Project participants will study the urban environment, take part in conversations with the #SAFneighbourhood locals and create artworks inspired by their learning. The outcome of this research, including interviews and artworks, will constitute the content of the final publication of #SAFneighbourhood, which will then be distributed to Sharjah Art Foundation visitors.
