Overview
In her disturbing project for the 2009 Sharjah Biennial, Man to Man (2009), Agnes Janich created a multi-video installation where viewers were led through a maze of darkened passages to the prison-like cages of barking dogs.
The work is a reference to the doghouse in Auschwitz, where the conditions were much better for dogs than they were for the human prisoners. These conditions, notes the Artist, were created by humans: one man to another man.
