Children can learn to make imprints of flowers and leaves in clay and toys from natural and organic materials at the Children’s Open Day 5 from 10:00 am at the Collections Building. The workshop venue is located in Arts Square next to Bait Al Serkal, where works by ten SB13 artists are currently on view.
Children can also learn to make contemporary clay vases using a variety of traditional ceramic techniques from 10:00am at the Making Ceramic Vases workshop taking place at Al Art Hamriya Centre, a walking distance from Al Hamriyah Studios showcasing even more SB13 artworks.
At 5:30 pm in The Urban Garden, adults can join the Round-Table Discussion: Deconstructing Urban Myths and Legends, where themes of urban myths in popular culture and folklore will be discussed. Included in the event is a focused tour of SB13 artworks related to mythology, urban legends and rumours.
Visitors can end the day with a screening of a film about traditional UAE sea chants titled Sounds of the Sea at 8:30 pm in the open air Mirage City Cinema.
